Placements24 is recruiting a motivated Sous Chef for a renowned Richards Bay restaurant to support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations. You will help maintain food quality, assist with menu development, and supervise daily culinary tasks in KwaZulu-Natal.

This role offers growth within a dynamic kitchen environment and requires a minimum of three years in a kitchen role, with strong leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for cooking.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of kitchen experience (Chef de Partie or junior Sous Chef).
• Solid understanding of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation.
• Experience with inventory management and basic cost control principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe testing, and creating daily specials.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and cooking methods.
• Manage food preparation, cooking, and presentation to consistently high standards.
• Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
• Step in as the acting Head Chef in their absence.
