Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sommelier to curate their wine program and enhance the dining experience at their esteemed restaurant in Nelspruit . This role involves managing the wine cellar, advising guests on wine selections, and working closely with the culinary team to create harmonious food and wine pairings. The ideal candidate possesses extensive wine knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional guest service.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and maintain the wine list, ensuring a diverse and high-quality selection.
• Advise guests on wine selections based on their preferences and menu choices.
• Manage wine inventory, cellar organization, and stock rotation to minimize spoilage and maximize profitability.
• Conduct staff training on wine knowledge, service standards, and food and wine pairings.
• Monitor wine trends and industry best practices to keep the cellar offerings current and appealing.
• Ensure proper wine service standards are maintained at all times.

Requirements
