Job summary

Stor-Age Property REIT Limited in Springs, South Africa, seeks an IT Solutions Development Manager to lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of secure, scalable IT solutions aligned with business goals and enterprise standards.

You will head multidisciplinary teams, promote Agile and DevOps practices, manage vendors, and monitor delivery performance, while driving digital transformation and delivering value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, software engineering, information systems, engineering or related field
• Honours Degree preferable in related discipline
• TOGAF Foundation or Enterprise Architecture Certification
• ITIL Foundation Certification
• Agile/Scrum Certification (Certified Scrum Master, SAFe, Agile Practitioner)
• Project Management Certification (PRINCE2, PMBOK)
• Microsoft, Oracle, or relevant software development certifications
• 8-10+ years: substantial experience in solutions engineering, or software/solution development

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and support of IT solutions that align with business strategy and operational objectives
• Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies, development practices, and automation opportunities to improve business capabilities and operational efficiency
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including developers, architects, business analysts, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and vendors, to deliver integrated technology solutions
• Establish and promote Agile, DevOps, and continuous improvement practices to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and enhance team performance
• Build, mentor, and lead high-performing development teams by fostering technical excellence, innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous professional development
• Oversee relationships with application and development partners and service providers, ensuring contractual compliance, quality delivery, and value for investment
• Establish, measure, and report on key performance indicators for solution delivery, including project milestones, service quality, system availability, user satisfaction, and development productivity
• Identify, assess, and manage technical, operational, cybersecurity, and project delivery risks to ensure resilient and secure IT solutions
• Drive the development of digital solutions, enhance customer experiences, and enable the organisation's digital transformation strategy
• Attend to audit queries as required; perform ad hoc duties within reasonable job scope

Introduction

• The Incumbent will be required to lead the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of innovative, secure, and scalable IT solutions that enable the organisation's strategic objectives and operational requirements.
• The role is responsible for managing the end-to-end solutions development lifecycle, leading multidisciplinary development teams, and ensuring that technology solutions align with business needs, enterprise architecture, governance standards, and industry best practices.
• The IT Solutions Development Manager drives operational excellence, fosters innovation, and ensures the timely delivery of high-quality solutions that enhance business performance, customer experience, and organisational value.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead Solution Development: Direct the end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and support of IT solutions that align with business strategy and operational objectives;
• Drive Technology Innovation: Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies, development practices, and automation opportunities to improve business capabilities and operational efficiency;
• Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including developers, architects, business analysts, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and vendors, to deliver integrated technology solutions;
• Champion Agile Delivery: Establish and promote Agile, DevOps, and continuous improvement practices to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and enhance team performance;
• Develop Technical Capability: Build, mentor, and lead high-performing development teams by fostering technical excellence, innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous professional development;
