Job summary

soughtout is seeking an IT Solutions Development Manager to lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of secure, scalable IT solutions aligned with business strategy.

You will manage cross-functional teams, foster Agile and DevOps practices, mentor engineers, oversee vendor relationships, and drive digital transformation and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• Honours preferred.
• TOGAF/EA certification.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
• Agile/Scrum certification.
• PMBOK/PRINCE2 certification.

• 8–10+ years experience in solutions engineering.

• The Incumbent will be required to lead the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of innovative, secure, and scalable IT solutions that enable the organisation's strategic objectives and operational requirements.
• The role is responsible for managing the end-to-end solutions development lifecycle, leading multidisciplinary development teams, and ensuring that technology solutions align with business needs, enterprise architecture, governance standards, and industry best practices.
• The IT Solutions Development Manager drives operational excellence, foster innovation, and ensures the timely delivery of high-quality solutions that enhance business performance, customer experience, and organisational value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead Solution Development: Direct the end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and support of IT solutions that align with business strategy and operational objectives;
• Drive Technology Innovation: Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies, development practices, and automation opportunities to improve business capabilities and operational efficiency;
• Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including developers, architects, business analysts, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and vendors, to deliver integrated technology solutions;
• Champion Agile Delivery: Establish and promote Agile, DevOps, and continuous improvement practices to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and enhance team performance;
• Develop Technical Capability: Build, mentor, and lead high-performing development teams by fostering technical excellence, innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous professional development;
• Manage Application and Development Vendors: Oversee relationships with application and development partners and service providers, ensuring contractual compliance, quality delivery, and value for investment;
• Monitor Delivery Performance: Establish, measure, and report on key performance indicators for solution delivery, including project milestones, service quality, system availability, user satisfaction, and development productivity;
• Mitigate Delivery Risks: Identify, assess, and manage technical, operational, cybersecurity, and project delivery risks to ensure resilient and secure IT solutions;
• Support Digital Transformation: Drive the development of digital solutions, enhance customer experiences, and enable the organisation's digital transformation strategy;
• Attend to audit queries as and when required; and
• Perform ad hoc duties as and when required within reasonable job scope.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.
• Honours Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related discipline preferable
• TOGAF Foundation or Enterprise Architecture Certification;
• ITIL Foundation Certification;
• Agile/Scrum Certification (Certified Scrum Master, SAFe, Agile Practitioner);
• Project Management Certification (PRINCE2, PMBOK); and
• Microsoft, Oracle, or relevant software development certifications.
• 8-10+ years: substantial experience in solutions engineering, or software/solution development.
