Job summary

Kwena Human Capital is recruiting a SCADA/PTMC Design Engineer for a project-based role in Postmasburg, Northern Cape. The role focuses on designing the SCADA/PTMC architecture for a PV plant, integrating inverters, plant controllers and BESS/PCS, while configuring PLC/RTU and HMI interfaces.

The incumbent will develop system specifications, control philosophies and data points, with relocation to the site if required. PrEng/PrTech Eng registration with ECSA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Design SCADA/PTMC architecture for PV plant and integration with plant equipment.
• Develop SCADA system specifications, I/O lists and data points.
• Experience with PLC/RTU, HMI interfaces and alarm/trend design.

Responsibilities

• Design the SCADA/PTMC architecture for the PV plant, including communication between inverters, weather stations, trackers, substations, meters and the control room.
• Develop SCADA system specifications, control philosophies, I/O lists, data points and functional design specifications.
• Integrate PV inverters, plant controllers, PPC, protection systems, BESS/PCS and substation equipment into the SCADA system.
• Design and configure PLC/RTU, HMI and SCADA interfaces, including alarms, trends, plant status and operational controls.
