Job summary

SOLA is a 100% South African renewable energy solutions provider specializing in solar PV and storage projects. The O&M Monitoring Engineer role is based in Cape Town and focuses on optimizing energy yield and plant availability across the fleet of solar assets.

The successful candidate will monitor, analyze data, perform root-cause analysis, and support site technicians to ensure high performance. A 3–5 year background in renewables is expected, with travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with renewable energy systems, control, monitoring, data analysis and reporting applications.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written).
• Willingness to travel to operational sites and work standby shifts.
• Must have 3–5 years experience in relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all Solar PV plants from the Cape Town Monitoring Room and via remote access.
• Engage with site technicians to resolve performance and availability issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis and reporting for faults and deviations.
• Perform daily system performance analysis and verify plant health and equipment setpoints.
• Coordinate with SCADA OEM on data integrity and reporting.
