Job summary

SOLA Group in Cape Town seeks a SCADA Engineer to design and commission PV plant SCADA systems, ensuring high data accuracy, availability and functionality for efficient operation. Reporting to the Senior SCADA Engineer, you will develop network architectures, configure SDN in ICS, and work on integration, testing, and documentation on site for extended periods as required.

Experience with Ignition by Inductive Automation and related protocols is essential; English fluency and strong teamwork

Qualifications

• At minimum, BTech or BEng in Electrical/Electronic or Computer Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in SCADA design and commissioning.
• Experience with Ignition SCADA, Zenon or N3uron.
• Willingness to work onsite for extended periods (4–5 months).
• Must be fully proficient in English and computer-literate.

Responsibilities

• Design and commission PV plant SCADA systems with high data accuracy and availability.
• Assist in SDN design for ICS networks to enhance security and traffic visibility.
• Develop signal/IP lists and integrate devices into SCADA network.
• Build and maintain SCADA/HMI platforms using Ignition; establish DevOps practices for deployment.
