Placements24 is seeking dedicated Solar Installation Technicians to join our field-based team in Port Elizabeth. You will install PV solar systems on residential and commercial rooftops, wiring and testing for safe operation, and ensuring high safety standards. Regular travel across the region is required as part of a dynamic, hands-on role.

The position emphasizes technical electrical knowledge, teamwork, and customer communication to support sustainable energy adoption in the community.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Solar Installation Technician or in a related electrical installation field.
• Solid understanding of electrical principles, wiring, and safety practices.
• Familiarity with different types of solar panels, inverters, and mounting systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation manuals.
• Strong physical stamina and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install solar panels, inverters, mounting hardware, and associated electrical components according to design specifications and electrical codes.
• Perform system wiring, connections, and grounding in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Conduct post-installation inspections and testing to ensure system functionality and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any installation-related issues or system defects promptly.
• Ensure a clean and safe work site, adhering strictly to all safety protocols and procedures.
• Assist with site assessments and client communication regarding installation progress and system operation.
