Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a hands‑on Solar PV Installation Technician to join our Rustenburg team. You will install panels, inverters, mounting hardware and electrical components for residential, commercial and industrial projects, ensuring high safety and workmanship standards.

You will perform site surveys, connect to grid or storage systems, and conduct post‑installation testing. A valid SA driver's license is required for travel within North West, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in solar PV installation or similar electrical role.
• Strong knowledge of solar panel systems, inverters, batteries and wiring.
• Familiarity with SA electrical regulations and safety standards for solar installations.
• Able to read blueprints, schematics and installation manuals.

Responsibilities

• Install solar PV panels, mounting hardware, inverters and electrical components per design and safety standards.
• Perform site surveys to determine optimal placement and configuration of solar arrays.
• Connect systems to grid or battery storage, ensure proper grounding and testing.
• Conduct post‑installation testing and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure tools are maintained.
