Job summary

Jackie Cory Recruitment is seeking a Social Media & Content Manager for our Port Elizabeth office. You will plan, create, and publish engaging content across multiple brands, while managing calendars, copy, video, and influencer collaborations.

You will also run email campaigns, monitor analytics, and ensure brand-consistent communication. You should have at least 3 years of hands-on social media management, a strong portfolio, and excellent English writing skills.

Qualifications

• Matric with a relevant marketing or digital media qualification or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ hands-on social media management across at least three platforms.
• Proven portfolio with personally created content and measurable results.
• Experience in community management and influencer campaigns.
• Strong copywriting and short-form video editing skills.
• Experience with email marketing platforms and reporting.
• Ability to analyse analytics and compile monthly performance reports.
• Excellent written English and ability to adapt content to brand voices.
• Knowledge of paid social advertising and content scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

Social Media & Content Manager

Location: Port Elizabeth (Office-Based)

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, create, schedule and publish engaging social media content across multiple brands and platforms.
• Manage content calendars, copywriting, short-form video creation, product photography and stories.
• Manage social media accounts, platform access, security and community engagement.
• Coordinate influencers, content creators and freelance suppliers, including briefs, approvals and performance tracking.
• Plan and execute email marketing campaigns and manage AI-powered customer responses.
• Monitor comments, messages, customer feedback and brand reputation, escalating issues where necessary.
• Manage approved paid social campaigns and track campaign performance.
• Analyse social media, email and website analytics, prepare monthly KPI reports and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with marketing, design, e-commerce and commercial teams to ensure consistent brand communication.
• Support the launch of new brands, including preparing social media accounts and launch content for local and international markets.
• Ensure compliance with platform policies, advertising regulations, age restrictions and POPIA requirements.

Requirements

• Matric plus a relevant marketing, communications, journalism or digital media qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ hands‑on social media management experience, including ownership of content calendars and publishing across at least three platforms.
• Proven portfolio demonstrating personally created content and measurable results.
• Experience in community management, influencer campaigns and social media account administration.
• Strong copywriting, short‑form video shooting and editing skills.
• Experience with email marketing platforms and reporting on campaign performance.
• Ability to analyse platform and email analytics and compile monthly performance reports.
• Excellent written English and the ability to adapt content to different brand voices.
• Knowledge of paid social advertising, content scheduling tools and AI chatbots will be advantageous.
• Experience with regulated products, multi‑brand FMCG businesses or launching social media accounts from scratch will be beneficial.
• Must be based in Port Elizabeth and willing to work office‑based, with occasional evening and weekend monitoring as required.
