Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Social Auxiliary Worker for a remote-first role serving Welkom and surrounding areas. You will assist in assessments, provide psycho-social support, and help clients access community resources, all from a remote setting across the Free State.

You will coordinate with social workers, maintain records, and use virtual platforms to monitor progress and communicate with clients regularly.

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Social Auxiliary Worker to support social workers and case managers in providing essential services to individuals and families in the Welkom and surrounding areas. This remote-first role will focus on conducting assessments, providing psycho-social support, and facilitating access to community resources. You will play a critical role in assisting our clients through challenging life circumstances, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance. Key Responsibilities

• Assist social workers in conducting client assessments and gathering necessary information.
• Provide direct support and counseling to clients under the supervision of a qualified social worker.

• Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation.
• Communicate regularly with clients via virtual platforms to monitor progress and provide support.
• Participate in team meetings and case conferences remotely.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification as a Social Auxiliary Worker.
• Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Previous experience in a social work or community support role.
• Proficiency in using virtual communication tools and digital record-keeping systems.
• Strong empathy, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a remote caseload effectively.
