Job summary

Bidvest Protea Coin is seeking an experienced security professional to advise clients, assess risks and manage security operations in a dynamic environment.

The role includes supervising manpower and equipment, rostering, reporting, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and HSE standards. The ideal candidate will have Grade 12 and PSIRA Grade A, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Experience in managerial or similar security role.
• Knowledge of risk management and incident handling.
• Ability to communicate at all levels under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide security advice to clients and manage threats and risks.
• Liaise with clients and maintain professional relationships.
• Manage manpower, equipment and rostering systems.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Handle client complaints and ensure standards compliance.
• Ensure disciplinary procedures are followed and hearings chaired.
• Oversee health and safety management and incident investigations.
• Ensure SOPs are followed and training is conducted when required.
• Attend meetings and respond to urgent matters even on rest days.
• Possess knowledge of security best practices for physical and information security.

Job description

• Security advice to clients;
• Threat and Risk assessment;
• Client liaison and professional client relationship;
• Manpower Management, equipment Management and rostering;
• Completion of daily, weekly and monthly reports;
• Effectively dealing with and managing client complaints;
• Ensure that contractual requirements are met at all time;
• Ensure compliance to the Company’s disciplinary code;
• Initiating and chairing disciplinary hearings;
• Health & Safety Management;
• Ensuring Security Officers problems that are reported are solved;
• Ensuring that all companies SOP’s are followed;
• Ensure training takes place as and when required;
• After hours’ visits and assisting with shift changes as a standby manager;
• Must be able to attend meetings and take calls to assist with matters of urgency even on rest days;
• Incident and investigation management; Reporting and mitigation;
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of good security practice, covering the physical and logical aspects of information products, systems, integrity and confidentiality;
• Willing to work split shift;

Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification;
• PSIRA certification – Grade A;
• Relevant experience in a managerial or similar position;
• Knowledge of methods and techniques of risk management, business impact analysis and counter measures
• Knowledge of tools or systems which provides access security control;
• Must have confidence in dealing with the public;
• SAPS and or SANDF training will be advantageous;
• Excellent written &verbal communication skills;
• Bilingual (English and any other South African Language);
• Computer literate and knowledge of MS office;
• The ability to communicate and present to all levels and work under pressure;
• Willing to undergo polygraph test;
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record;
• Driver’s licence and own reliable transport;
