Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead essential utility infrastructure upgrades in Upington, Northern Cape. The role is site-based, requiring hands-on leadership and coordination with engineering teams, contractors, and regulators to ensure safe, reliable service delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in project management, a technical engineering background, and proficiency with MS Project or Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of proven project management experience in utility infrastructure.
• Experience managing budgets of R4 million or more.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Site-based role in Upington/Northern Cape preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of utility infrastructure upgrade projects from planning to handover.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, field crews, contractors, and regulators.
• Oversee on-site construction, ensuring safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Manage project finances including budget tracking and invoices.
• Identify and mitigate risks to minimize service disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, permits, and regulations.
• Provide regular status reports to senior management.
• Manage vendor and contractor relationships and obligations.
• Facilitate clear communication among stakeholders.
