Job summary

Placements24 seeks a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee critical utilities and infrastructure projects for a fully remote team supporting the Upington region. You will manage the complete lifecycle from planning and feasibility to execution, commissioning and handover, ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance while controlling budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) or related field.
• PMP or equivalent certification is essential.
• Minimum 8 years of experience managing large-scale infrastructure or utility projects.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects in a remote setup with virtual leadership.
• Strong knowledge of PM methodologies, contract administration, and regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle of utility and infrastructure projects for on-time, within-budget delivery.
• Develop comprehensive project plans with scope, objectives, timelines, and risks.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, regulators, and stakeholders virtually.
• Oversee execution, monitor progress, and ensure safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Manage budgets, track expenditures, and control financial aspects throughout lifecycle.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to ensure smooth project progression.
