Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer for a site-focused role in Soweto, Gauteng. You will assess existing infrastructure, develop repair strategies for concrete and steel elements, and prepare detailed design documents. Professional registration and several years of structural experience are required.

You will liaise with clients and contractors, conduct site investigations, and ensure compliance with SANS codes while contributing to infrastructure longevity and safety.

Formación

• Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Candidate Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural assessment, analysis, and design of existing structures.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct detailed structural condition assessments of bridges, dams, buildings and industrial facilities.
• Perform structural analysis to evaluate load-bearing capacity and integrity of existing elements.
• Develop repair and strengthening designs for deteriorated structures.
• Prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings, analyses and rehabilitation strategies.
• Produce detailed design drawings, specifications and construction documentation for rehabilitation projects.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and site personnel to implement repair works.
• Conduct site inspections during construction to monitor progress and quality.
• Stay updated on best practices and new technologies in structural assessment and rehabilitation.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes and standards (SANS, etc.).
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines for integrated solutions.
