Job summary

Our client is seeking an Assistant Silo Manager to oversee day-to-day silo operations in Clocolan, ensuring efficient resources, staff supervision, excellent customer service and strict financial control.

The role requires 4+ years in grain/silo management, relevant courses (fumigation, grading), and fluency in Afrikaans and English. Work hours are Monday to Friday 07h30–17h00, with Saturdays 08h00–12h00, and a monthly cost-to-company package depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Matric is required.
• 4+ years in grain and silo management is essential.
• Completed fumigation course is required.
• Completed grading course is required.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
• Experience supervising staff and managing budgets/costs.
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Oversee silo operations within approved budget to control costs and optimize resources.
• Monitor silo expenditure against budget and address variances.
• Supervise staff, coordinate daily activities and ensure operational needs are met.
• Ensure staff adhere to company policies and standards.
• Handle customer service efficiently and maintain positive relationships.
• Maintain sound financial practices within the division and monitor expenditures.
• Oversee silo administrative functions and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
