Mirna Butler Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Silo Manager (Maize) to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of a silo in Elliot, ensuring efficient operations, staff leadership and sound financial control. The successful candidate will hold Matric, 4+ years in grain and silo management, fumigation and grading courses, fluent in Afrikaans and English, with a valid driver’s license and own vehicle.

You will monitor budgets, manage staff and customer service, maintain records, and ensure operations

Qualifications

• Matric is required.

Job description

Our client is seeking a dedicated Silo Manager (Maize) to oversee the day-to-day operations of their silo in Elliot, ensuring efficient operations, effective staff management, excellent customer service and sound financial control. Minimum requirements

• Matric
• Minimum of 4 years working experience in grain and silo management
• Completed fumigation course
• Completed Grading course
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English
• Previous experience in the effective supervision and/or management of staff
• Experience in managing budgets and costs
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle

Duties and responsibilities

• Manage the silo operations in accordance with the approved budget to ensure effective cost control and efficient use of resources
• Monitor silo expenditure against the budget and identify any variances requiring attention
• Manage staff by overseeing daily responsibilities, coordinating activities and ensuring operational requirements are met
• Monitor staff performance and ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and operational standards
• Manage customer service activities by attending to customer needs, queries and concerns in a professional and efficient manner
• Maintain positive customer relationships and ensure a high standard of service is consistently provided
• Ensure sound financial management and practices are maintained within the division in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Monitor financial activities and expenditure within the division to support effective financial control
• Manage silo administrative functions and ensure all administrative processes and documentation are completed accurately and efficiently
• Maintain accurate administrative records and ensure relevant information is kept up to date for operational and reporting purposes

Remuneration

R 40 000 Cost to Company (including pension fund and medical aid contribution), depending on experience

Work hours

Monday - Friday: 07h30 - 17h00

Saturdays: 08h00 - 12h00
