Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Process Improvement Engineer for a prominent manufacturing site in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will analyze production lines, identify inefficiencies, and implement lean and Six Sigma solutions on the shop floor to boost productivity, quality and safety.

You will lead 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping and continuous flow initiatives, design improved layouts, and mentor production staff. Strong analytical and leadership skills are essential to drive measurable gains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 4 years in industrial engineering or process improvement in manufacturing.
• Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred.
• Experience applying lean tools and Six Sigma in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in process mapping, data analysis, and statistical software.
• Strong communication and leadership to drive change.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production lines to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
• Lead lean initiatives (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping) and continuous flow.
• Apply Six Sigma to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Design and optimize plant layouts and workstations for efficiency.
• Develop KPIs and track performance of improvements.
• Train staff on new processes and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance to improve uptime.
• Prepare reports and present findings to management.
• Manage pilot projects before full-scale rollout.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.
