Job summary

Dante Personnel Recruitment (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Shipping and Logistics Clerk in Roodepoort, Gauteng. The role requires 2–3 years in shipping or logistics and experience with foreign suppliers and freight forwarders.

You will manage import documentation, tracking, ETAs and delivery coordination, while using SAP or similar ERP systems and a Qwix WMS. Proficiency in MS Excel/Word is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in shipping, imports, logistics or similar environment is required.
• Proven experience with foreign suppliers and freight forwarders.
• Experience with import documentation and customs/shipment clearance.
• Experience with tracking shipments, ETA management and delivery coordination.
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word; SAP or another ERP system is essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate import documentation and customs clearance processes.
• Liaise with suppliers and freight forwarders to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Track shipments, manage ETAs and coordinate delivery loading.
• Check and process purchase orders, supplier confirmations and invoices.

Job description

• Diploma or qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Imports/Exports or a related field will be advantageous
• 2–3 years' relevant experience in shipping, imports, logistics or a similar environment
• Proven experience working with foreign suppliers and freight forwarding agents
• Experience with import documentation and customs/shipment clearance processes
• Experience with shipment tracking, ETA management and delivery coordination
• Experience with shipment costing and checking freight charges
• Experience with processing and checking purchase orders, supplier confirmations and invoices
• MS Excel and MS Word proficiency is essential
• Experience using SAP or another ERP system is essential
• Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS), preferably Qwix, will be advantageous
• Customer service and supplier liaison experience
• Good negotiation and problem-solving skills
