Job summary

JVR Software is seeking an experienced underground supervisor to oversee shift operations and ensure safe production in a mining environment. You will plan tasks for miners, team leaders and operators, inspect working places, and enforce safety procedures at all times.

The role requires 5+ years underground, including 2+ in supervision, with experience in both conventional and trackless sections, plus a valid fitness certificate. Platinum or hard-rock exposure is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and allocate work to miners, team leaders and operators for the shift.
• Inspect working places before and during the shift to ensure safety.
• Enforce safety standards, legal requirements and mine procedures.
• Manage blasting, ground support, ventilation and housekeeping per plan.
• Track production against targets and report delays and incidents.
• Manage attendance, discipline and performance of crew, and coach team members.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 5 years’ underground experience, including 2 or more in a supervisory role.


• Experience supervising both conventional and trackless sections.


• Valid certificate of fitness.

Advantageous: Experience in a platinum or hard-rock mine; experience with production planning and cost control; labour relations experience.
