Job summary

Ithemba Recruitment- Sourcing Top Talent in Gqeberha is seeking a technically skilled maintenance technician for extrusion moulding operations. You will support achieving production efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure machines and moulds are well maintained. Shift work and own transport are required. Experience with Uniloy extrusion blow moulding is essential; an N3 or higher N qualification is preferred, FMCG background a plus.

Qualifications

• N3 or higher N qualification essential (trade not required).
• Preference for FMCG or Mechanical/Electrical experience.
• At least 2 years in a technical or maintenance role.
• Must be able to work shifts and have own transport.
• Extrusion blow moulding experience with Uniloy machines essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in achieving production efficiency targets (85%).
• Help maintain raw material wastage below 1.4% of material used.
• Set machines according to best practices.
• Conduct mould and material trials as required.
• Report and assist with machine and mould maintenance.
• Ensure machinery and moulds are maintained, serviced and stored.
• Help produce top quality products.
• Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards.
• Assist with fabrication in the factory when needed.

Job description

• Assisting in achieving a production efficiency of 85%
• Assisting in ensuring that raw material wastage levels are maintained below 1.4% of material used
• Setting machines according to the best practices
• Conducting mould and material trials as required
• Reporting and assisting with machine and mould maintenance requirements
• Ensuring that machinery and moulds are effectively maintained, serviced and stored
• Ensuring top quality products are produced
• Practicing a high standard of housekeeping and safety
• Assisting with some fabricating in the factory as needed

Qualifications and experience:

• N3 (mechanical, electrical or Instrumentation) or higher N qualification essential (trade not required)
• Preference will be for FMCG or Mechanical/Electrical experience
• At least 2 years work experience in a technical or maintenance role essential
• Must be able to work shifts and own transport is essential
• Extrusion Blow Moulding experience and experience with Uniloy machines essential
