Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking two Blow Mould Setters for a 2-shift role in KwaZulu-Natal. You will set up blow moulding machines, adjust moulds and settings to align with quality specs, and perform preventive maintenance to minimise downtime.

You will work with quality teams to verify product specifications, monitor operations, and log shifts and maintenance activities. Prior experience in FMCG is preferred.

Qualifications

• Setting and/or mechanical experience is essential.
• Exposure to blow moulding is advantageous.
• Minimum N3 Mechanical or Electrical qualification.

Responsibilities

• Set up blow moulding machines, adjust moulds and settings to meet specifications.
• Perform mechanical/technical adjustments and preventative maintenance.
• Collaborate with quality teams to ensure dimensional, closure, seal and decoration standards.
• Monitor machine operation and troubleshoot faults (mechanical/electrical).
• Maintain a clean, safe production area and assist with mould changeovers.
• Record shifts, machine settings and maintenance logs.
• Work with production planning to meet output and capacity targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up blow moulding machines, adjust moulds and settings to ensure moulds run within specification for quality, cycle time, and output.
• Perform mechanical/technical adjustments and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Collaborate with quality teams to confirm moulded products meet dimensional, closure, seal integrity, and decoration standards.
• Monitor machine operation, detect faults, troubleshoot issues (mechanical, electrical, mould).
• Maintain a clean, safe production area and assist with mould changeovers.
• Record shifts, machine settings, and maintenance logs.
• Work with production planning to meet output and capacity targets.

Requirements

• Minimum N3 Mechanical or Electrical
• Completed N4 or higher is preferred
• At least 3 years of experience in FMCG production environment
• Being exposed to blow mould is advantageous
• Setting and/or Mechanical experience is essential
