Job summary

Pump and Abrasion Technologies in Tshwane is seeking a SHEQ Intern to support the implementation and maintenance of SHEQ management systems. You will gain hands-on experience in safety, quality, and environmental practices within a dynamic team.

The role focuses on audits, training, risk assessments, and reporting, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement across health and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or related field.
• SHEQ systems, practices, or processes experience is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of health and safety legislation and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with the company’s SHEQ policies.
• Support the implementation of SHEQ training programs to promote awareness among employees.
• Participate in risk assessments and assist in the development of safe work procedures.
• Help in the preparation of SHEQ reports and documentation for internal and external audits.
• Monitor and analyze incidents, accidents, and near-miss reports to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of health and safety legislation and environmental regulations.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SHEQ auditing tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of ISO standards related to quality, environment, and occupational health and safety is a plus.
• Certification in First Aid or Occupational Health and Safety would be beneficial.
