Job summary

The Recruitment Pig in Randburg invites applications for a Sheet Metal Design Draftsman. You will create accurate flat patterns for laser cutting, produce bending schedules, and assemble components using Autodesk Inventor.

You will draw 2D layouts with AutoCAD, maintain bills of materials in Excel, and collaborate with production teams to solve manufacturing challenges in a dynamic engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level drafting qualification or mechanical engineering diploma required.
• Proven experience in precision sheet metal design and flat patterning.
• Strong knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with sheet metal tooling, bending allowances, and Excel material lists.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate flat patterns for sheet metal laser cutting.
• Produce precise bending schedules for workshop presses.
• Build comprehensive component assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.
• Draw 2D layouts and general arrangements using AutoCAD.
• Maintain organized bill of materials in Excel.
• Collaborate with production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
