Job summary

The Recruitment Pig in Randburg invites applications for a Sheet Metal Design Draftsman. You will create accurate flat patterns for laser cutting, produce bending schedules, and assemble components using Autodesk Inventor.

You will draw 2D layouts with AutoCAD, maintain bills of materials in Excel, and collaborate with production teams to solve manufacturing challenges in a dynamic engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level drafting qualification or mechanical engineering diploma required.
• Proven experience in precision sheet metal design and flat patterning.
• Strong knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with sheet metal tooling, bending allowances, and Excel material lists.

Responsibilities

• Draw 2D layouts and general arrangements using AutoCAD.
• Maintain organized and updated bill of materials in Excel.
• Work closely with production teams to solve manufacturing challenges.

What You Need to Apply

• A relevant drafting qualification or mechanical engineering diploma.
• Proven experience in precision sheet metal design and flat patterning.
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of press brake tooling and bending allowances.
• Basic skills in Microsoft Excel for material lists.
• Experience with SolidWorks, Revit, or SketchUp is an advantage.
