Job summary

Mecad Systems in Germiston, Gauteng, seeks a Draughting professional to join our mechanical engineering team. You will produce detailed 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks, focusing on sheet metal components up to 10mm thick, and ensuring alignment with project specs.

You will collaborate with engineering and production, maintain design records, and oversee fleet and SHEQ compliance. A matric and a draughting qualification are preferred, with advantage for furnace systems knowledge.

Qualifications

• Matric (National Senior Certificate) is required.
• Draughting Certificate Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering is advantageous.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks with sheet metal design experience.
• Knowledge of furnace systems is advantageous.
• Strong PC literacy and ability to work with various software tools.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Fleet and SHEQ regulations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks.
• Work with sheet metal up to 10mm thickness to develop high-quality designs.
• Ensure designs align with fluid dynamics principles for optimal efficiency.
• Ensure all drawings meet project specifications and manufacturing requirements.
