Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years hands-on experience in enterprise VoIP and UC.
• Strong knowledge of SIP, H.323, RTP, SRTP.
• Experience with Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, SBCs.
• Understanding of QoS for real-time communication.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose voice quality issues.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior VoIP Engineer to join their completely remote workforce. This role is essential for the design, implementation, and management of Voice over IP (VoIP) systems and unified communications platforms. You will leverage your deep technical expertise to ensure high availability, superior voice quality, and seamless integration of communication services across the organization. This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while playing a key role in modernizing communication infrastructure for the telecoms sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain VoIP infrastructure, including PBX systems (e.g., Asterisk, FreeSWITCH), session border controllers (SBCs), and call managers.
• Implement and manage unified communications solutions, integrating voice, video, and messaging services.
• Monitor VoIP system performance, troubleshoot voice quality issues, and optimize network configurations for latency and jitter.
• Develop and implement security measures to protect VoIP systems from unauthorized access and threats.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for VoIP systems, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Provide expert technical support and guidance to junior engineers and support staff.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of hands‑on experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise VoIP and UC systems.
