Job summary

Placements24 in Randburg, Gauteng, seeks an experienced Senior VoIP Systems Engineer to design, implement, and support a scalable VoIP infrastructure. You will maintain PBX systems, SBCs, and gateways, ensuring performance, security, and reliability for diverse clients.

The role requires deep VoIP expertise, strong networking and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead initiatives in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/IT.
Minimum of 5 years designing, implementing, and managing VoIP systems.
In-depth knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323, RTP, RTCP).
Experience with VoIP platforms (Cisco CallManager, Asterisk, Avaya) and SBCs (Audiocodes, Metaswitch).
Strong IP networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, QoS, firewalls).
Relevant certifications like CCNP Voice are desirable.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage VoIP systems including PBX, SBCs, and gateways.
Monitor VoIP network performance; resolve call quality, latency, and jitter issues.
Implement and maintain VoIP security measures to prevent unauthorized access and fraud.
Configure and troubleshoot VoIP endpoints, softphones, and client devices.
Develop and maintain documentation for VoIP systems and procedures.
Collaborate with network engineers for seamless VoIP integration.
Plan upgrades to VoIP infrastructure components.
Provide technical support and training to end-users and staff.
Stay updated on VoIP technologies, standards and best practices.
