Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all aspects of the visual effects pipeline, ensuring artistic vision and technical feasibility.
• Collaborate closely with directors, producers, and other department heads to define and achieve the desired VFX aesthetic.
• Manage and guide a remote team of VFX artists, providing clear direction and feedback on shots.
• Oversee the bidding, scheduling, and resource allocation for VFX projects.
• Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and develop innovative solutions for VFX production.
• Ensure seamless integration of CGI, compositing, and other VFX elements into live-action plates.
• Review work-in-progress and final shots, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Maintain open and effective communication channels with all stakeholders, including clients and internal teams.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in VFX technology and software, recommending new tools and techniques.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in visual effects supervision, with a strong portfolio of feature film or high-end television credits.
• Proven ability to manage complex VFX projects and lead large, distributed teams.
• In-depth knowledge of 3D animation, modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, and compositing software (e.g., Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Arnold, RenderMan).
• Strong understanding of cinematography, set lighting, and practical effects.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, essential for remote collaboration.
• Ability to interpret and execute creative direction effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Graphics, Film, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
