Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Remote Virtual Production Supervisor to lead planning, execution, and delivery of remote virtual production stages, bridging creative vision with real-time pipelines using Unreal Engine or Unity.

You will oversee LED volumes, camera tracking, data wrangling, and remote coordination with global directors, cinematographers, and VFX teams to ensure exceptional, on-time outputs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in VFX/virtual production or real-time graphics, with leadership experience.
• Expert proficiency with Unreal Engine or Unity, including lighting and rendering workflows.
• Strong understanding of remote collaboration and distributed teams.
• Experience managing virtual production stages or major VFX projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all technical and creative aspects of virtual production shoots, remotely managing on-set teams and processes.
• Supervise the setup and operation of LED volumes, camera tracking systems, and real-time rendering pipelines.
• Collaborate with directors of photography, VFX supervisors, and art departments to achieve desired visual outcomes.
• Manage and optimize real-time environments and assets within game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Ensure seamless integration of live-action plates with virtual elements during production.
• Develop and implement efficient virtual production workflows tailored for remote collaboration.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to real-time rendering, camera tracking, and data wrangling in a remote environment.
• Manage communication and coordination between on-set virtual production crews and remote artists/supervisors.

• Expert proficiency with Unreal Engine or Unity, including lighting, rendering, and scene optimization.
• Strong understanding of camera tracking technologies (e.g., Mo-Sys, Ncam) and LED wall operation.
• Experience with real-time compositing workflows and techniques.
• Familiarity with digital asset management and pipeline integration.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills in complex real-time environments.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and remote team management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven remote setting.
