Job summary

Plan.Net CreativeNest South Africa is seeking a talented Senior UX/UI Designer to shape digital experiences for international brands. You will own UX/UI design from concept to final execution, collaborating with Creative Leads, Project Managers, Developers and global stakeholders.

You will strengthen UX/UI capabilities, contribute to design standards, and mentor junior designers in a hybrid role based in Cape Town.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior UX/UI Designer or similar
• Strong portfolio demonstrating UX thinking and visual design
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components and design systems
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive designs and scalable systems

• Lead end-to-end UX/UI design for websites, platforms, apps and digital products
• Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes and final UI designs
• Develop information architectures and user journeys balancing usability and business goals

Job description

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior UX/UI Designer to join our growing team at CreativeNest.

In this role, you will design intuitive, engaging and visually outstanding digital experiences for international brands and platforms. You will combine strong user-centred design thinking with exceptional visual design skills, translating complex requirements into seamless and impactful digital solutions.

This is a hands-on senior creative role. You will take ownership of UX/UI design projects from initial concept through to final execution, working closely with Creative Leads, Project Managers, Developers and international stakeholders.

You will also help strengthen our UX/UI capabilities by contributing to design standards, sharing expertise and supporting the development of our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

• UX/UI Design: Create intuitive, user-centred and visually compelling digital experiences across websites, platforms, applications and digital products.
• End-to-End Design Ownership: Lead the design process from understanding user needs and business requirements through wireframes, user flows, prototypes and final UI designs.
• User Experience: Develop information architectures, interaction concepts and user journeys that balance usability, accessibility and business objectives.
• Visual Design Excellence: Deliver high-quality interface designs with strong attention to typography, layout, interaction and brand consistency.
• Design Systems: Develop, maintain and optimise scalable design systems, component libraries and UI guidelines.
• Prototyping & Testing: Create interactive prototypes and support usability testing to validate design decisions and improve user experiences.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI Project Managers, Creative Leads, Developers and international stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Creative Quality Assurance: Review designs, provide constructive feedback and ensure consistency and quality across deliverables.
• Team Development: Share knowledge, mentor junior and mid-level designers and contribute to improving creative standards and workflows.
• Innovation: Explore emerging UX/UI trends, AI-powered design tools and new technologies to continuously improve our creative output and processes.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Senior UX/UI Designer, Product Designer or Digital Experience Designer, ideally within a creative agency, digital consultancy or product environment.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating outstanding UX thinking, visual design craftsmanship and successful digital projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, auto layout, prototyping and design systems.
• Strong understanding of user-centred design principles, interaction design, information architecture and responsive design.
• Experience designing complex digital platforms, websites, applications and scalable design systems.
• Understanding of accessibility standards, usability principles and development handover processes.
• Ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into clear, intuitive design solutions.
• Experience collaborating with Developers, Project Managers, Creative Teams and international stakeholders.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the confidence to explain and defend design decisions.
• A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a high level of creative ownership.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
