Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Lead UX/UI Designer to spearhead the design of intuitive and engaging user experiences for their interactive digital products in Cape Town. You will be responsible for translating complex user needs and business requirements into seamless, aesthetically pleasing, and highly functional interfaces. This role demands a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead design sprints and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and researchers. You will play a critical role in defining the user journey and shaping the overall product strategy through exceptional design.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design process for web and mobile applications, from user research and wireframing to high-fidelity prototyping and visual design.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive design systems, style guides, and component libraries to ensure consistency across all product touchpoints.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to gather insights and inform design decisions.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to ensure designs are technically feasible and meet business objectives.
• Mentor junior designers, provide constructive feedback, and foster a culture of design excellence within the team.
• Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders, clearly articulating the rationale behind design choices.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in UX/UI design, with a significant portion in a lead or senior capacity.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in designing complex digital products and user flows.
