Placements24 invites applications for a Senior Process Engineer to join our upstream operations team in Durban. You will optimize processes, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to design and commissioning of new process units, ensuring safety and performance in a demanding environment.

The role requires 7+ years in upstream process engineering, proficiency with HYSYS/Aspen Plus, and strong process safety management.

Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering within upstream oil and gas.
Strong knowledge of process simulation software (HYSYS, Aspen Plus) and fluid dynamics.
Proficiency in process safety management (PSM) principles and methodologies.
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and hands-on plant experience.

Responsibilities

Optimize existing process operations to enhance efficiency, throughput, and product quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex process-related issues, implementing corrective actions promptly.
Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Conduct process safety studies, including HAZOP and LOPA, to ensure safe operating conditions.
Support the design, procurement, and commissioning of new process units and equipment.
Provide technical support and guidance to plant operators and maintenance personnel.
