Placements24 is seeking a Senior Underwriter specializing in complex and niche risks to join its fully remote team. You will assess, analyze, and price specialized insurance risks to ensure profitability, portfolio stability, and sound risk management across diverse industries.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in underwriting with expertise in at least two lines (e.g., professional liability, cyber, environmental, aviation), strong analytical skills, and proven remote-work effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years in underwriting with a focus on specialized/complex risks.
• Expertise in at least two specialized lines (e.g., professional liability, cyber, environmental, aviation).
• Strong analytical and financial acumen; excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex and specialized risks across industries to meet profitability targets.
• Analyze financial statements, loss history, and data to set appropriate premium rates.
• Develop relationships with brokers and agents and provide expert guidance on specialized products.
• Collaborate with claims and actuarial teams on risk management strategies.
• Monitor portfolio performance and adjust underwriting strategies as needed.
• Stay informed on market developments, emerging risks, and regulatory changes.
• Underwrite new business and renewals with accurate documentation and issuance.
• Provide mentorship to less experienced underwriters in the remote team.
• Conduct thorough due diligence on potential clients and operations.
