Placements24 seeks a Senior Transportation Planning Engineer to lead strategic planning of transportation networks in Randburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on roads, public transit, and active transportation, with expertise in modeling, forecasting, policy analysis, and sustainable mobility.

You will drive complex planning studies, engage government agencies and community groups, and shape the future urban mobility vision within a collaborative environment.

Qualificações

• Engineering degree required (BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc).
• Professional registration is advantageous (e.g., Pr Eng, Pr Planning).
• Minimum 8 years of progressive transportation planning experience.
• Proficiency in transportation modeling software and GIS.
• Strong knowledge of SA transportation policies and planning frameworks.
• Experience in public stakeholder engagement and workshops.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead project teams and manage complex planning assignments.

Responsabilidades

• Lead development of comprehensive transportation plans (regional, corridor, site-specific).
• Conduct traffic demand modeling and forecasting using industry software.
• Analyze existing systems and identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop strategies for public transport, cycling, and pedestrian infrastructure.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and policy recommendations.
• Engage with clients, authorities and the public to gather input and communicate findings.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for planning projects.
• Provide mentorship to junior planning engineers and analysts.
• Stay updated with ITS and smart mobility trends.
