Qualifications

• Engineering degree required (BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc).
• Professional registration is advantageous (e.g., Pr Eng, Pr Planning).
• Minimum 8 years of progressive transportation planning experience.
• Proficiency in transportation modeling software and GIS.
• Strong knowledge of SA transportation policies and planning frameworks.
• Experience in public stakeholder engagement and workshops.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead project teams and manage complex planning assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of comprehensive transportation plans (regional, corridor, site-specific).
• Conduct traffic demand modeling and forecasting using industry software.
• Analyze existing systems and identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop strategies for public transport, cycling, and pedestrian infrastructure.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and policy recommendations.

Requirements

• BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr Eng, Pr Planning) is advantageous.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in transportation planning and analysis.
• Proficiency in transportation modeling software (e.g., TransCAD, Cube, PTV Vissim/Visum, SATURN) and GIS.
• Strong understanding of South African transportation policies, legislation, and planning frameworks.
• Experience in public stakeholder engagement and facilitating workshops.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and manage complex planning assignments.
