Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation engineering, focused on urban planning and design.
• Experience with traffic modeling software (VISSIM, SIDRA, AIMSUN) and traffic data analysis.
• Knowledge of GIS and CAD software for transportation planning and design.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites within the Stellenbosch area.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of transportation master plans, traffic impact assessments, and intersection designs.
• Conduct traffic studies, including data collection, analysis, and modeling with specialized software.
• Design road alignments, pavement structures, and drainage for transportation projects.
• Develop plans for public transport infrastructure, cycling lanes, and pedestrian walkways.
• Ensure designs comply with national and local standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Liaise with clients, government agencies, and other consultants to present proposals and findings.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff.
• Review construction documents and provide site support during project execution.
• Stay current with ITS and sustainable mobility advancements.
