Responsabilités

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic studies, data analysis, and demand forecasting for transportation systems.
• Design transportation infrastructure, including road layouts, intersection improvements, and public transport facilities.
• Develop traffic management plans and signal timing strategies.
• Prepare traffic impact assessments (TIAs) for development projects.
• Evaluate the performance of existing transportation networks and identify areas for improvement.
• Contribute to the development of long-term transportation master plans and policies.
• Liaise with government agencies, municipalities, and community stakeholders.
• Utilize specialized transportation modeling software (e.g., VISSIM, SIDRA INTERSECTION).
• Stay abreast of emerging trends in transportation engineering, such as intelligent transport systems (ITS) and shared mobility.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in transportation planning and design.
• Demonstrated experience in traffic analysis, modeling, and impact assessment.
• Proficiency in traffic simulation software and CAD tools.
• Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, road design standards, and public transport operations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Effective communication and presentation skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders in Pretoria .
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
