Placements24 is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer in Durban to lead road and highway design, traffic analysis, and project management for major transport projects. The role balances office collaboration with remote flexibility in a hybrid setup.

You will mentor junior staff, develop geometric designs, and ensure compliance with national standards while coordinating with clients and authorities to secure approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Master's degree with a specialization in Transportation Engineering is advantageous.
• Professional registration as a Pr. Eng. with ECSA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and development of transportation infrastructure projects, including urban roads, highways, and interchanges.
• Prepare detailed geometric designs, traffic control plans, and intersection layouts using CAD software.
• Conduct traffic analysis, capacity studies, and feasibility assessments.
• Develop specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates for road construction.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders to secure approvals.
• Oversee and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.
