Placements24 seeks a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead the road network design division in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on highways, intersections, and urban networks, with responsibility for technical excellence, project delivery, and client satisfaction.

You will drive planning and design, oversee teams, mentor junior engineers, and ensure adherence to safety and South African standards, delivering robust and sustainable infrastructure in a dynamic regional context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Transportation specialization.
• Pr. Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum 9 years of progressive transportation engineering experience.
• Experience leading road design projects from inception to completion.
• Proficiency in traffic planning software (PTV Vissim, TransCAD) and CAD (AutoCAD Civil 3D).

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and development of transport infrastructure projects.
• Conduct traffic analysis, capacity studies, and feasibility assessments.
• Prepare design reports, layouts, drainage, and traffic control plans.
• Oversee contract drawings and specifications for construction.
• Manage project teams with quality control, and budgets.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Liaise with clients, government bodies, and other consultants.
• Ensure compliance with standards and SANS.
