Placements24 is assisting a respected civil engineering consultancy in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, by seeking a Senior Transport Engineer. The role focuses on traffic studies, road network design, public transport planning, and infrastructure projects for public and private clients.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of traffic modeling software (VISSIM, SIDRA INTERSECTION), geometric design principles, and South African transport planning standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Transportation specialization.
• Professional engineering recognition (Pr.Eng) is preferred.
• Experience in traffic modeling, road design, and public transport planning.
• Ability to manage transportation projects and client relations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic impact assessments and modeling studies.
• Design road networks, intersections, and interchanges.
• Plan and design public transport facilities and systems.
• Prepare technical reports and feasibility studies.
• Ensure compliance with SA transportation standards and guidelines.
• Manage project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Collaborate with clients, government agencies and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance.
• Review designs to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Stay updated on emerging transportation trends.
