Placements24 is hiring a Senior Tourism Educator to design, update, and deliver Tourism curriculum content for South African secondary schools. The role is remote, enabling you to contribute from anywhere in SA while keeping CAPS alignment and industry relevance at the forefront.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in Tourism education, solid pedagogical skills, and experience using LMS to enable engaging online learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management, Hospitality, Geography, or Education with a Tourism specialization.
• A recognized teaching qualification and SACE registration.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching Tourism at the secondary school level.
• In-depth knowledge of the CAPS curriculum for Tourism.
• Broad understanding of tourism and hospitality sectors including operations, marketing and management.
• Proven ability to develop engaging online learning content and facilitate remote instruction.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and update Tourism curriculum materials in line with CAPS and industry best practices.
• Design and deliver online lessons, activities, and assessments for secondary Tourism students.
• Incorporate industry trends, sustainable practices, and destination marketing into the curriculum.
• Create practical learning experiences, virtual tours, and case studies relevant to Tourism.
• Assess student learning through online assignments, quizzes, presentations, and projects.
