Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Tourism Experience Designer to conceive and develop immersive travel itineraries and experiences. You will research trends, collaborate with global partners, and translate concepts into marketable tour packages, with a focus on authentic cultural immersion and sustainable tourism practices.

The role is fully remote, suited to an innovator who can work autonomously in a virtual environment, primarily serving opportunities in and around Pretoria, Gauteng, ZA, and beyond.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in tourism product development, tour design, or destination marketing.
• Proven ability to create unique, commercially viable travel experiences.
• Excellent research, analytical, and conceptual thinking.
• Strong understanding of global tourism and current travel trends.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication with persuasive storytelling.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management, Hospitality, Geography, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design innovative tourism experiences, itineraries, and packages.
• Research travel trends, competitors, and destinations.
• Collaborate with DMOs, operators, providers to curate experiences.
• Create detailed trip outlines with activities, lodging, transport, USP.
• Ensure experiences align with sustainability principles.
• Develop marketing content and descriptions for new products.
• Present concepts to stakeholders and partners.
• Refine offerings based on feedback.
• Stay informed about assets of key regions.
