Job summary

The Vocation Station is seeking a seasoned Tier 2 Network Support Engineer to join our growing IT services team in Cape Town. You will own escalated issues across client environments, drive resolutions, and contribute to infrastructure projects, with exposure to Windows Server, AD/DNS/DHCP, VMware/Hyper-V, and security tooling.

We offer a path toward Tier 3 leadership with opportunities to influence client environments, governance, and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT support environments, ideally MSPs.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server features and administration.
• Proficient in AD/DNS/DHCP management and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V).
• Experience with security and backup tools (Mimecast, Barracuda, Veeam).

Responsibilities

• Own escalated technical issues and drive resolution.
• Deliver support that meets SLA targets.
• Troubleshoot client server, network and infrastructure setups.
• Roll out infrastructure changes, upgrades, and migrations.
• Contribute to hardware, software, and virtualization projects.
• Plan and deliver projects end-to-end with stakeholders.
• Prepare statements of work, deliverables and timelines.
• Maintain clear client communication during incidents and changes.
• Identify improvements to performance, stability and security.
• Document processes to keep operations repeatable.
