Job summary

Placements24 in Upington, Northern Cape, seeks an experienced Telecoms Network Operations Manager to lead its network operations team. You will oversee uptime, performance, and reliability of the telecom network, and mentor engineers and technicians.

The role requires a Bachelor's in CS/Engineering, 7+ years in network operations with 3+ in management, ITIL familiarity, and strong leadership and communication skills. Hybrid work and relocation support are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in network operations with 3+ years in a management role.
• Strong knowledge of telecom network infrastructure (IP routing, switching, wireless, transmission).
• Experience managing large-scale NOCs.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with network monitoring, management, and automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of network operations engineers and technicians.
• Oversee day-to-day network operations for uptime and performance.
• Develop and implement operational policies and ITIL best practices.
• Manage incident response and resolution for outages.
• Monitor network performance metrics and identify improvements.
• Collaborate with planning, engineering, and security teams for changes/upgrades.
