Job summary

Alstom Gruppe is seeking a Telecom Network Engineer specialized in Access Networks to join the infrastructure team in Soweto. You will design and implement fixed and wireless access networks, including FTTH, GPON, LTE, and 5G considerations, ensuring high-speed, reliable connectivity for customers.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in access network design, with strong RF and optical networking knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of telecom access network design/engineering experience.
• Proficiency with GPON, FTTx, LTE, and 5G deployment considerations.
• Experience with network planning tools and CAD software.
• Strong understanding of RF principles and optical networking.
• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills, with delivery focus in the Soweto region.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer access network solutions, including fiber optic and wireless systems.
• Plan and oversee deployment of new network infrastructure and upgrades.
• Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for network expansion.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex access network issues.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
