Placements24 is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Engineer for its Klerksdorp operations. The role focuses on optimizing procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.

You will collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, and transportation to streamline operations, reduce lead times, and improve inventory management, with leadership responsibilities for a growing team.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, logistics, or industrial engineering with a focus on optimization.
• Strong expertise in planning and forecasting software, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), and WMS.
• Proficiency in data analysis and modeling tools (Excel, SQL, Python, R).
• In-depth knowledge of lean principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven leadership and project management abilities.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills for supplier management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize all aspects of the supply chain, including planning, sourcing, manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory management, reduce carrying costs, and minimize stockouts.
• Design and manage logistics networks, including transportation routes, carriers, and warehousing operations.
• Utilize data analytics and modeling techniques to forecast demand, identify trends, and optimize resource allocation.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
• Implement and refine supply chain performance metrics and reporting systems.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains throughout the supply chain.
• Lead projects focused on supply chain integration, technology adoption, and process automation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices in North West .
• Mentor junior supply chain professionals and provide expert guidance.
