About the Role

Our client, a prominent leader in the global Oil & Gas industry, is seeking an accomplished Senior Subsea Production Engineer for a fully remote position. This role offers the unique opportunity to leverage your extensive expertise in subsea systems from any location within **South Africa**. You will be responsible for the design, installation, and operation of subsea production equipment, ensuring optimal performance and integrity of subsea assets. This position is critical to maximizing production efficiency and maintaining the highest safety standards in offshore operations, all managed from a remote-first setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, specification, procurement, and installation of subsea production systems, including wellheads, trees, manifolds, and flowlines.
• Develop and implement strategies for the operation, maintenance, and integrity management of subsea production facilities.
• Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments for subsea equipment and operations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including subsea engineers, drilling engineers, and operations personnel, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Oversee the commissioning and startup of new subsea production facilities.
• Monitor the performance of subsea assets and identify opportunities for production optimization and debottlenecking.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies for subsea operations.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to subsea equipment and production systems.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and proposals related to subsea projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on subsea engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in subsea engineering within the Oil & Gas sector, with a strong focus on production systems.
• Proven experience with subsea hardware, including wellheads, trees, manifolds, risers, and flow assurance.
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ISO).
• Strong understanding of offshore production operations and associated risks.
• Excellent project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and influence decision-making.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working in remote or distributed teams.
• Proficiency in relevant subsea engineering software and tools.
