Job summary

Placements24 seeks a specialized Subsea Engineer to support offshore operations near East London. The role focuses on design, installation, and maintenance of subsea systems essential for Oil & Gas production, working on complex projects involving subsea production equipment, pipelines, and structures.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical engineering background with subsea expertise, ready to contribute to advanced offshore projects in the Eastern Cape coastal energy sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in subsea engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proven experience with subsea production systems, hardware, and installation methodologies.
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, DNV).
• Proficiency in relevant design and analysis software.
• Strong project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify subsea equipment, including trees, manifolds, and tie-ins.
• Develop installation procedures and oversee the execution of subsea construction activities.
• Perform analysis related to pipeline stress, stability, and flow assurance.
• Manage subsea component fabrication, testing, and qualification.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, geologists, and clients.
• Troubleshoot and support the maintenance and repair of existing subsea infrastructure.
