Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Structural Design Engineer to join a global engineering consultancy. You will perform structural analysis and design for buildings and infrastructure from home, collaborating with project managers, architects, and construction teams across locations.

The role requires 6+ years of post-graduate experience, a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, and proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS, Revit Structure, and Tekla Structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering design.
• Proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS, Revit Structure and Tekla Structures.
• Experience with BIM and cloud-based collaboration tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for buildings and infrastructure using advanced software.
• Prepare drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Collaborate with remote colleagues and project stakeholders via virtual platforms.
• Ensure designs comply with international and South African codes and standards.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to technical queries remotely.
• Conduct virtual site inspections or guide on-site personnel as needed.
• Maintain project documentation in a cloud-based system.
• Contribute to conceptual design development and feasibility studies.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers within the remote team.
